Preceptorships

Mission MedVet welcomes veterinary students at all stages of their training to our practice to participate in a preceptorship experience.  Our practice offers excellent exposure to a multi-disciplined referral and emergency practice, and students are encouraged to rotate through all services. However, students can opt to focus on one area of interest. Students work with the specialists, residents, interns, and senior emergency clinicians and are welcome to participate in rounds, lectures, and journal club. Preceptorships range from 1-4 weeks.

Veterinary Technology students are also welcomed at our hospital as part of their school program.  We are able to accommodate students in flexible schedules, as the hospital is open 24 hours a day.  Students will work closely with our clinicians and talented staff of Registered Veterinary Technicians and assistants.

Internships

Mission MedVet offers 2 rotating small animal medicine and surgical internship positions each year. The program's core is a series of rotations through the different services. During the program, you will experience a diverse range of cases in surgery, internal medicine, critical care, ophthalmology, cardiology, and dermatology. You will further your learning as the primary clinician during emergency coverage while under the supervision of senior ER clinicians. We strive to ready you for success in either a residency or a progressive, private practice by helping you to develop your medical expertise and communication skills. Intern candidates are encouraged to visit our facility to directly experience our program's benefits.
